The Iowa Geospatial Data ClearinghouseGoalsWelcome to the Iowa Geospatial Data Clearinghouse. The Iowa Geographic Information Council and partners are maintain the clearinghouse as a means to search, publish and coordinate geospatial data for the State of Iowa. For more information about the organizations and agencies participating in this effor please visit the partners page. Data searches Iowa has a wealth of geospatial data developed
by a wide variety of organizations including county and city governments,
private organizations, state agencies, and higher education institutions.
The Iowa Geospatial Data Clearinghouse provides a mechanism for
searching the geospatial data holdings for many of these. Searches
are based on user provided metadata which define characteristics
about the data such as spatial extent, data delivery mechanism and
keyword or topic category. [Search for

Publish Metadata Data providers can use the Iowa Geospatial Data
Clearinghouse to publish their metadata. The IGDC can also provide
data download for providers that do not have their own means for
users to download their data. [Publish Metadata]
Data Acquistion Coordination Many of the IGDC partners and data providers are
in the process of acquiring data or in beginning the RFP process.
The Iowa Geospatial Data Clearinghouse has a mechanism for providers
and partners to advertise and network their data acquistion activities.
